Site inspection checklist — general construction
A weekly walk-round structure. Statutory inspections (scaffolds, excavations, lifting) run to their own regimes on top.
- Access and egress: routes clear, edges protected, lighting adequate.
- Housekeeping: materials stored safely, waste controlled, fire loading managed.
- Work at height: platforms complete, tags current, harness use where required.
- Plant: exclusion zones live, marshals where planned, daily checks evidenced.
- Temporary works: condition matches design, no unauthorised alteration, permits current.
- Welfare: facilities clean, stocked and sufficient for the workforce present.
- Environment: fuel and COSHH storage bunded and closed, spill kits stocked, dust/noise controls running.
- People: inductions cover everyone present, RAMS briefed for current tasks, PPE per task.
- Emergency: escape routes clear, fire points stocked, first-aid provision present and known.
- Actions: each finding gets owner + date, and last week’s actions are checked first.
