Inspection & Test Plan — structure

The columns and conventions of a working ITP.

About ISO 9001
  1. Columns: activity · specification/criterion reference · inspection or test · who inspects · intervention level (H hold / W witness / S surveillance / R record review) · record produced · sign-off.
  2. Hold points: work does not proceed past an H point without the named party’s release — matching temporary works permit hold points where they coincide.
  3. Records column names the actual form or record, and completed records file against the ITP line.
  4. Client and third-party involvement agreed before work starts, not negotiated at the point.
  5. Close-out: a completed ITP with all records is a handover deliverable, not an internal souvenir.

This checklist is a starting point prepared by Temporary Works Consulting & Design Ltd. It is not a substitute for the standard, for legislation, or for competent advice, and completing it does not make an organisation compliant or certified. A competent person must adapt it to your organisation before reliance.
